Sorbitrate Uses
Sorbitrate is used to prevent or relivee attacks of angina (chest pain associated with heart disease.)
How Taken
To prevent angina attacks: the extended release capsules should be taken in 20 to 80mg doses every 8-12 hours. TO treat angina attacks: place a sublingual tablet in your mouth or chew a chewable tablet. May be used after 5 mins if pain is not relived. IF pain persists, take another tablet after 5 minsutes. Call your doctor if this regimen is not providing relief.
Warnings
Adverse reactions are more likely and more severe in older patients. Do not drive or engage in hazardous work until you learn how this medication affects you. Avoid alcohol while taking Sorbitrate.
Missed Dose
Take Sorbitrate as soon as you remember you missed a dose. However, if it is near the time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your regular dosage schedule. Do not double the next dose.
Side Effects
Blurred vision, dry mouth, severe or prolonged headache are serious side effects. Stop taking the medication and report to the nearest emergency room.
Storage
Store in a tightly sealed container away from heat and direct light. Do not allow the liquid forms to freeze.
Overdose
Bluish fingernails, lips or palms, extreme dizziness or fainting, unusual weakness, fever, weak and rapid heartbeat or convulsions indicate an overdose. Get to your nearest medical emergency services department immediately.
Caution is advised when taking Sorbitrate. Tell your doctor if you have anemia, glaucoma, a recent head injury or stroke or have had a recent heart attack.
