Serophene (Clomid, Clomiphene, Milophene)
Drug Uses
Serophene is used to stimulate the release of eggs by the ovaries in women who wish to become pregnant.
How Taken
The usual dose is 50mg once daily for 5 days starting on the fifth day of the menstrual period. Women who do not have menstrual cycles can begin taking it on any convenient day. The dose may be increased gradually up to a max of 250mg per day.
Warnings/Precautions
Serophene is usually prescribed only for women of childbearing age. Do not drive or engage in hazardous activity until you determine how the medicine affects you. Drink in strict moderation if at all.
Missed Dose
Take the missed dose as soon as you remember unless it is within two hours of your next scheduled dose. If it is time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular dosing schedule.
Possible Side Effects
Side effects include bloating, stomach or pelvic pain, changes in vision or usnual sensitivity to light, yellow discoloration of the ye or skin. Serious side effects with Serophene are unusual.
Storage
Store in a tightly sealed container and keep away from heat, moisture and direct light.

Use some means of monitoring ovulation as it is crucial to discontinue use of the drug when pregnancy occurs. See your doctor with each cycle and be examined before resuming Serophene therapy. There are many important aspects of the treatment so remember to follow your doctors orders.
