Polymox, Generic Name – amoxicillin
Drug Uses
Polymox is used in the treatment of bacterial infections. It is in the Penicillin group of drugs.
How Taken
Take Polymox as prescribed by your physician with a glass full of water.
Warnings/Precautions
Tell your physician if you are pregnant, have allergies, are taking other prescription or non prescription medications or breast feeding before taking Polymox.
Missed Dose
Take the missed dosage of Polymox as soon as it is remembered. Never take two dosages at once. If missed dosage is close to next scheduled dosage then skip the missed dosage.
Possible Side Effects
Headache, itching vaginally, mouth soreness and patches of white on the tongue or mouth are all possible side effects of Polymox medication.
Storage
Keep Polymox room temperature far from light directly, heat or moisture.
Overdose
If an overdose on Polymox is suspected contact your local emergency medical care center immediately.
More Information
Birth control pills may not be as effective while taking Polymox, another back up form of birth control should be used while taking this medication. Tell your physician you are on Polymox if you have any medical tests scheduled. It is very important to let your physician know of any health problems before going on Polymox.
